For those who are unfamiliar with the term, an omnibus study is a
public survey targeted at a large survey group representing the
general population (which means it is highly accurate and extremely
representative). Results can be purchased by anyone for a small fee.
Omnibus studies typically contain many general questions (for
example, "Have you purchased a home or a new vehicle in the past 6
months?"). Yet, individual survey participants (i.e. clients) have the
ability to include customized, proprietary questions too. The answers
to these questions are not available to other survey participants.
Often, results of our omnibus studies appear in the
newspaper through our work for clients such as the Calgary Herald and
CBC. Private companies and public organizations also find the
information invaluable when it comes to helping them gauge the market.
